Dr. Ali Haydar is the Chief Medical Officer at Aman Hospital, Doha, Qatar and previously the chairman of diagnostic and interventional radiology at Clemenceau Medical Centre Affiliated with Johns Hopkins international where he joined in 2018.
Dr. Ali Haydar obtained his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in the year 2000 and completed his higher training in London, the United Kingdom. Dr. Haydar is a dual-trained physician in Nephrology and in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology from the Imperial College London, UK.
Dr. Haydar obtained his MRCP (Member of the Royal College of Physicians) in 2005 and FRCR (Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologist) in 2008 and obtained his Certificate of completion of training CCT from London deanery.
In 2010 Dr. Haydar was appointed as consultant interventional/trauma and cross-sectional Radiologist at the Royal London and St. Bart’s NHS Trust, which is the largest trauma center in the UK and the largest teaching hospital in Europe. In 2012 Doctor Haydar moved back to Lebanon where he held a dual appointment at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre as an associate professor of Radiology and Interventional Radiology and Associate professor of Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Haydar is very skilled in all aspects of interventional radiology. He is laser certified since 8 years and is known in the treatment of leg varicose veins, fibroid embolization, prostate embolization, hemorrhoid embolization (Dr. Haydar performed the first case in the middle east), bariatric embolization for the treatment of obesity. Dr. Haydar has major success stories in treating pelvic congestion syndrome and male varicocele embolization for the treatment of fertility.
Dr. Haydar is sought after for treatment of cancer patients using minimally invasive techniques like radiofrequency ablation and microwave ablation. In addition to liver embolization and radioembolization.
Dr. Haydar has more than 90peer-reviewed published research papers in addition to many books chapters.
Dr. Haydar is listed on Who’s Who in the world in 2009 and is currently the treasurer of the PAN Arab interventional radiology society.
